Style is a powerful tool to frame a conversation and progress an idea. Wether you are attracting customers or giving advice. How you so it matters. Finding new order and beauty is powerful.

“Rod is one of the best shopping center design executives that I have ever been around.  His creative, “outside the box” thinking, leadership qualities and high attention to detail, puts Rod on the highest platform in the design arena. He can make a pig of a shopping center look like Caesars Palace. Whomever lands Rod as an employee/partner is going to be VERY fortunate for years to come.”

Project Examples
Nearly every solution I produced this past decade has been custom. Whether a finish update to exterior facades, tear down and rebuild or green field development each have the same aspects in common. They invovle teams of talented individuals contributing at high levels to achieve time sensitive, budget conscious, logistically challenged solutions. In this environment It is paramount that leadership is clear, focused and attentive to all aspects of the process. For 26 years I have met schedule and budget expectations but also opened the door for innovation and quality. Each project page above tells the story of design creation and my strategy for achieving it. In each case I either led, approved, or designed the final solution.

“Rod Bannon consistently delivered creative thinking and quality design solutions that met the needs of GGP’s retail development efforts.

Rod’s passion for design excellence, along with his depth of knowledge in retail design, planning and operations, established him as a respected design leader within GGP’s Design Management team.

During his tenure with GGP, Rod proved to be an effective project manager.  He always recognized the need to assemble an appropriate consultant team, to collaborate with all in-house team members to ensure that all decisions were being made in a timely manner, and to make a personal commitment to deliver a successful project.  Rod understands what it takes to get the job done, and how to make it happen.

Rod’s drive and passion for design excellence, creative thinking and effective project management would be a great asset for any organization.”

“Rod Bannon is easily one of the most creative architectural and design professionals I have ever worked with. His ability to interpret design for clients as well as colleagues is unmatched. He has a tremendous ability to communicate and drive projects with optimism and a high level of proficiency.”

Harry KoehlerVP of Real Estate, Macy's Inc.

“Rod Bannon has demonstrated a keen and highly developed sense for sophisticated design and design excellence. He is quite capable of directing complex and demanding design programs involving numerous consultants from all design disciplines.

He is extraordinarily passionate about his work and defends and promotes design concepts vigorously as he works within large multi-disciplined development teams to achieve consensus. His “read” of the sense of his team is excellent and he is therefore highly effective in delivering a successful design solution that is embraced by his colleagues. Mr. Bannon’s effectiveness is further enhanced by his thorough and in-depth knowledge of architectural detailing, materials and sequence of construction.

He also thoroughly understands the principles of retail presentation and merchandising and one only has to look at some of the presentation images of the work he has collaborated on for the Elk Grove Promenade project in Sacramento to see evidence of that understanding and his creative response. Mr. Bannon is able to “leverage” his talent and understanding of the retail sector and his sophisticated design capability to produce unique and fresh responses to traditional retail design problems.

Given his interest and passion for design and his demonstrated ability, I have no doubt that Rod Bannon would bring a similar response to whatever design or design management task is presented to him.”
